Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Training Role

Be passionate about forest management and fire safety. Have the skills to lead, mentor, and train future forest and fire professionals.

This role involves leading, planning, coordinating, and implementing district technical and fire role training. Deliver engaging programs to support field staff in gaining essential accreditation skills.

You will be responsible for scheduling staff, resources, and equipment at the district level. Accreditation and experience in bushfire response and forest environment operations are required.

Ongoing technical skills and knowledge maintenance is also part of this role.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on technical training and competency assessment.

A current manual Driver's Licence is mandatory for this position.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience and understanding of Forest and Fire Operations responsibilities, including forest management, road management, fuel management, and emergency preparedness and response.
  • Current accreditation (or substantial progress) in Cert IV Training and Assessment, with experience in training and competency assessment for technical roles.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering technical and operational training.

This is an ongoing position based in Victoria. The salary ranges from $75,361 to $82,298 per annum, plus superannuation.
