Job Opportunity: Journalist

We are seeking a skilled journalist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

About the Role

As a journalist with us, you will be responsible for planning and posting content to our social media platforms, researching and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday bulletins. You will also provide assistance to the weather presenter in preparing forecasts, enter data into our system, and assist with script writing as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • University Degree in Journalism: We require a degree in journalism or a related field to ensure that our journalists have the necessary skills to excel in this role.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Our journalists must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively convey information to our audience.
  • Media Law Knowledge: A demonstrated understanding of media law is essential for our journalists to work safely and within the boundaries of the law.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in this role to ensure that our content meets the highest standards.
  • Social Media Awareness: A good understanding of the social media landscape and how to use it effectively is required to engage our audience.
  • Team Player: We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with our team to achieve our goals.
