**The Role**

We seek an experienced Youth Disability Worker to join our team in Calamvale. As a key member of our team, you will provide person-centred, trauma-informed care to young people in 24/7 Supported Independent Living.

You will create a safe and empowering environment, balancing youth work and disability care. Guided by the Case Manager, you will meet daily needs, foster emotional, social, and cultural wellbeing, and promote independence as they transition to adulthood.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support young people with physical, intellectual, or psychosocial impairments in building independence through personalised care plans.
  • Provide personal care, including dressing, bathing, grooming, medication management, and toileting.
  • Empower young people to develop life skills like meal preparation, household chores, and cleaning.
  • Facilitate participation in community activities and manage the logistics involved.
  • Support engagement in education, vocational activities, and skill development.
  • Help young people build social skills and maintain relationships with family, peers, and social networks.
  • Provide emotional support, apply regulation strategies, and manage distress or escalation.
  • Accompany young people to appointments, ensuring their needs and opinions are respected.
  • Organise and support leisure activities, encouraging hobbies and personal interests.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, complete shift handovers, and follow incident reporting protocols.

**What We Offer**

We provide a competitive salary package of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Certificate 4 in a related discipline, preferably Youth Work or human services.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Youth Work, Disability Support, or a relevant field.
  • Previous experience as a Youth Worker within a disability context with demonstrated experience of trauma-informed care will be highly regarded.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain necessary certifications, including a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Driver's License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
