About the Role

The Instructional Leader plays a vital role in fostering a thriving Catholic community by ensuring that the SCS values of empathy, excellence, truth, curiosity, and collaboration are drivers for establishing a strong educational environment.

They lead schoolwide excellence in pedagogical, curriculum, and assessment practices, supporting the implementation of new pedagogies for learning in their key learning area(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and lead exemplary, innovative, and evidence-based real-world learning practice in selecting, organizing, and evaluating content, and delivering learning and teaching programs in the curriculum specialty.
  • Evaluate compliance with NSW Education Standards Authority and Australian Government requirements for syllabus interpretation and implementation, programming, assessment, reporting, and evaluation for each VET course.
  • Monitor student performance within the faculty, ensuring effective assessment, responsiveness to data, timely feedback, and differentiation are embedded within teaching programs and practices.
  • Evaluate teachers' goal setting related to performance and assess the achievement of set goals.
  • Contribute to and coordinate the growth of VET opportunities within Stages 5 and 6.
  • Collaborate with the Leader of Pathways and Partnerships to establish external partnerships that support VET learning.

We seek a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to fill the position of Instructional Leader VET (Years 9-12). This full-time role is scheduled to commence on a mutually agreed date.
