The Department of Mathematics and Systems Engineering is seeking highly skilled adjunct faculty members to teach College Algebra and/or Calculus courses.

Job Description:

We are looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for teaching and learning to design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions to guide students through the intricacies of course material. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge to students, fostering a deep understanding of underlying concepts in these courses.

Responsibilities:
  • Course Instruction:Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions to guide students through the intricacies of course material.
  • Curriculum Development:Develop and update course materials, ensuring alignment with the latest advancements.
  • Evaluation and Assessment:Design assessments, quizzes, and projects to evaluate students' understanding and proficiency in applying methods and techniques taught in the course.
  • Student Engagement:Foster a positive and interactive learning environment, encouraging student participation and engagement in discussions and practical exercises.
  • Office Hours:Provide regular office hours for student consultations, addressing questions and concerns related to the course content.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Educational Background:A Ph.D. in Mathematics
  • Teaching Experience:Prior experience in teaching courses in Single/Multivariable Calculus and College Algebra is highly desirable
  • Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to students
