The role of a Learning Support Literacy teacher is to provide an evidence-based teaching and learning program to address identified needs for selected students in the Year 7 and 8 Literacy support classes.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the specialist Numeracy teacher and the Learning Support Manager to develop an effective literacy program that delivers positive outcomes for students.
This involves analysing data to differentiate instruction and support student progress and resilience.
The literacy program will utilise education assistants to maximise student learning opportunities and monitor progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Qualification in remedial literacy education
- Knowledge of the WA English Curriculum
- Engagement with evidence-based teaching strategies
- Excellent data analysis skills to monitor student progress
- Experience with standardised testing (ACER, PAT)
The successful applicant will be provided with opportunities and resources to develop capacity in evidence-based teaching.
This includes working collaboratively with the specialist Numeracy teacher and the Learning Support Manager to deliver high-quality literacy support programs.
