Senior Power Generation Specialist

This pivotal leadership role is instrumental in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance and plant reliability. As a senior power generation specialist, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists to deliver high-performing power generation units.

  • Technical Supervision: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, driving innovation and best practices in maintenance and reliability engineering activities.
  • Maintenance and Reliability Engineering: Lead activities across heavy-duty frame gas turbines, leveraging root cause failure analysis, corrective actions, and technical reporting to inform stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives targeting asset availability, lifecycle optimisation, and cost-efficiency through predictive, preventative, and condition-based methods.
  • Collaboration: Engage with OEMs, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and effective operations, contributing to Asset Management Plans and developing associated capital upgrades project plans.

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering, eligible for professional membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in power generation or the energy and resources industry, with 3 years in a leadership or senior engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of power station systems, including auxiliaries, control systems, and balance of plant equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in Type B gas appliances, risk-based inspections, pressure equipment management, hazardous areas, and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
