Job Title

Electrical Systems Engineer - Design Leader

This challenging role involves taking the technical lead on secondary systems for substation and transmission projects, delivering protection and control designs from concept through to commissioning.

  • Work on complex, large-scale high-voltage projects across Australia
  • Lead the preparation of protection and secondary systems design packages
  • Develop and review schematics, logic diagrams, and functional specs

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with primary, civil, and drafting teams to ensure design alignment
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality assurance, and client expectations
  • Support project delivery from early design through testing and commissioning

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in secondary systems design for HV & EHV Substations
  • Expertise in protection relays, control systems, and SCADA
  • Strong working knowledge of AS/NZS 61850 and relevant HV standards
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • CPEng (or working towards) and EA membership preferred
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
