As a skilled metal fabricator, you will be responsible for working on various projects involving the fabrication of structural steel, plate, pipe, and other metal components. Your expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and work orders will be crucial in determining project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have formal trade qualifications in boiler making or fabrication and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment. Proficiency in operating welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, is essential. Strong knowledge of metal properties, fabrication methods, and quality control processes is also required.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders with accuracy. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work are essential. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills, are also necessary.

This full-time position involves working an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime available. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate with the wider team to deliver high-quality projects on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform layout, cutting, forming, fitting, and welding of metal components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine project requirements.
  • Operate specialized equipment and tools such as cutting torches, grinders, welding machines, and hydraulic presses.
