We are seeking a highly skilled team leader to inspire, organise and lead our small team of support workers who help craft and safeguard a fulfilling life for Milli.
As a team lead, you will be responsible for establishing systems, policies, and procedures so the team can work together consistently, effectively, and autonomously to meet Milli's needs and deliver her vision.
The successful candidate will have excellent people and task management skills to enable Milli's family to step back from daily coordination roles into oversight roles.
Milli is a passionate ukulele player, singer, and performer. She loves role-playing, rhyming, and creating her own lyrics for songs. She is a keen sailor and has recently discovered a hidden talent for boccia.
Milli is nearly 17 years old and is transitioning out of school into adult life. As a team lead, you will support Milli in:
- experiencing a range of activities, discovering new interests, and developing new skills
- finding opportunities to perform, expand her musical skills, and work towards a career in music
- building friendships and lasting connections in her community
- planning, organising, and executing her daily activities
- taking care of herself and staying strong and healthy
- understanding and managing her feelings and expressing her needs
Our vision is for Milli to become socially connected in her community, have opportunities for contribution and self-expression, and be empowered to follow her passions.

- Establish effective communications channels and processes to ensure easy flow of information between Milli's family, medical and allied health professionals, and the support team
- Build a positive team culture of trust, transparency, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Facilitate and lead the team through team meetings, mentoring, coaching, and development
- Delegate and monitor team tasks ensuring they are completed on time and within expected quality standards
- Manage staff rostering, approve timesheets, and check draft payroll runs for errors
- Liaise with Book Keeper and HR advisor to ensure compliance with laws
- Contribute to strategic planning and create operational plans based on the strategic plan
- Attend meetings to plan and implement ideas for building Milli's good life
- Provide reports to Milli's family on progress towards goals, and any risks and issues requiring input
