The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for accurate and timely billing of patient accounts across health funds and third-party providers following discharge. Reporting to the Supervisor, this role also includes follow-up of outstanding debts and processing of patient receipts. Regular liaison with health funds and third-party organisations ensures accounts are reviewed, reconciled, and finalised efficiently.
This position requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail within the department. The Accounts Receivable Officer works closely with the Supervisor to support financial business operations and contributes to the achievement of hospital goals by working in a collaborative, effective, and quality-focused manner.
Key responsibilities include managing multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and empathy while maintaining exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Account receivable officers will be mature, proactive, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. They must have the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
A degree or certificate in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, or healthcare administration is preferred. Proven experience in a similar role is also essential.
