Job Overview

A leading shipbuilder and defence contractor is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and management of its data architecture.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, large-scale projects and contribute to the organisation's growth and success.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures, including data warehousing solutions and real-time data pipelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design scalable data architectures by developing secure, enterprise-wide models and integration strategies that align with business strategies and technical requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality by establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks, quality standards, and validation protocols.
  • Optimise database systems by recommending solutions for configuring information systems, managing data migration from legacy systems, and designing conceptual and logical database models.
  • Standardise data models and metadata by developing logical and physical data models and implementing metadata management practices.
  • Maintain compliance and security by implementing data security policies and ensuring adherence to data privacy laws and industry regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or working towards.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures, including data warehousing solutions and real-time data pipelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, and data integration.
  • Proficient in SQL, ELT processes and big data framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
