The BUSY Group is a not-for-profit organisation that has been a community partner for over 45 years, providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 9 campuses across Cairns, Brisbane, and Gold Coast/Coolangatta, offering an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.

Our teams' focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student's graduation from Year 12.

Job Description

We are seeking a Support Staff member to work in a part-time capacity at our Ipswich campus. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to Teachers, assist in maximising learning outcomes for young people, and help facilitate their return to education.

You will be working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, supporting the day-to-day operations of the school, and engaging with students, parents, employers, school personnel, training providers, and government departments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to conduct qualitative and quantitative research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to Teachers and the school administration
  • Assist in implementing strategies to maximise learning outcomes for disengaged youth
  • Engage with students, parents, employers, and other stakeholders to promote the school's programs and services
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
  • Previous experience in a similar role within youth support services and/or education sector
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research

Salary: Circa $30/hr + 12.5% superannuation
