We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Tax Advisor to join our dynamic team in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth offices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax advisory services and be able to provide expert advice on duty and land tax compliance, planning and disputes resolution.
Responsibilities include assisting in buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes, identifying duty and land tax exposures of a deal, advising on duty consequences of mergers, acquisitions, restructures and divestments, identifying duty obligations and preparing submissions for lodgements, applications, rulings and objections with revenue authorities.
The successful candidate will also conduct tax research, provide advice on tax planning opportunities and assist clients in managing tax risks in their businesses. They will stay up-to-date with developments in state taxes and other regulatory updates.
Key qualifications include a completed Bachelor's degree in Law together with Accounting, Commerce, Economics or equivalent, recent M&A/transactional experience is advantageous, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a client-facing team environment and drive individual development, strong personal initiative and willingness to take responsibility for own work, and keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
