About the Role

The Defence Delivery Teacher - Navy Engineering - Heavy Diesel will be accountable for providing professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve as designated by the Australian Defence Force.

This position focuses on excellence in planning and conducting teaching and assessment for the Defence contract in the pursuit of excellence and innovative delivery. The role also includes resource development and educational administration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners.
  2. Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements.
  3. Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning.
  4. Adapt learning and assessment materials to cater for different students, learning environments, facilities, and resources.
  5. Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught.
  6. Assist in relation to the establishment, maintenance, and review of teaching programs.
  7. Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.
Requirements

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools.

Qualifications required for the role:

  1. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or qualifications that meet the Standards for RTOs 2015.
  2. Certificate IV or Diploma in relevant industry.
  3. Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline.
  4. A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver.
  5. A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge.
