Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement HSE Management Plans: Monitor and review project HSE management plans to ensure they are implemented and up-to-date. Update plans as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Deliver HSE Programs: Develop and deliver corporate and client HSE programs to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Toolbox Topics and Meetings: Create project-specific toolbox topics to address local HSE issues and facilitate toolbox meetings to engage employees and contractors on HSE matters.
  • HSE Consultation and Coaching: Consult with employees and contractors to improve HSE on site. Coach and influence site workers and management on hazard and risk management tools, reinforcing safe behaviors and addressing at-risk behaviors.
  • Incident Investigations: Conduct incident investigations to identify causal factors and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • HSE Inspections: Lead HSE inspections with site personnel, including subcontractors, to identify hazards and controls. Coach participants on HSE matters and provide feedback on improvement opportunities.
  • HSE Registers: Set up, monitor, and review HSE registers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Project Induction: Assist with the delivery of the project induction to ensure employees and contractors understand HSE expectations and requirements.
  • Injury Management: Support injury management on site, including monitoring injured persons and projects' adherence to return-to-work plans.
  • HSE Reporting: Complete HSE reports to ensure accurate and timely reporting of HSE incidents and near misses.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including client representatives, to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

About You:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role in construction, infrastructure, and/or mining projects.
  • Qualifications: Formal OSH qualifications, such as a Certificate IV or Diploma, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (an advantage).
  • Other Requirements: Construction Induction Training (White Card), strong attention to detail and accuracy, self-starter with ability to communicate with all stakeholder levels, and a C-class driver's license.
