Are you a seasoned rail professional with expertise in driver training? Do you have a strong background in rules and regulations, as well as experience managing drivers? We are seeking an experienced Hitachi Driver Trainer to join our team at Avanti West Coast.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and preparing comprehensive training materials for our new Hitachi Fleet. You will play a crucial role in ensuring all training content meets the highest standards and complies with relevant legislation and industry guidelines.

In this role, you will utilize your exceptional assessment skills through practical evaluations, written exams, computer-based assessments, and driving simulator scenarios to ensure the safety and efficiency of our operations. Your attention to detail will be invaluable in continuously improving and enhancing our training programs.

You will have the opportunity to deliver training courses on safety-related topics to various levels within and outside our organization, sharing your knowledge and expertise with a wider audience and making a positive impact not only within our company but also in the broader railway industry.

We offer a competitive salary of £73,000 per annum, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. If you have a passion for driver training, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

  • A minimum of 3 years' train driving experience and driver management experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Avanti West Coast traction knowledge and Personal Track Safety is essential.
  • Holding a NVQ qualification to A1 and V1 (or equivalent) Assessor and Verification, as well as TOLO qualifications, is mandatory.
  • NVQ L10, L11, L12 (or equivalent) Training Qualifications are also required.
