Teaching Excellence in Tourism and Event Management

La Trobe Business School is a leading Australian business school committed to enhancing business learning through education and research.

The successful appointee will play a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of the curriculum within the tourism and event management discipline, drawing on their area of expertise.

  • Coordinating and delivering subjects at both undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Ensuring content remains current, engaging, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Actively fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships between the school and relevant industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and coordinating courses that meet the needs of students and industry stakeholders.
  2. Collaborating with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure teaching remains relevant and effective.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about teaching and has a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the university/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching, subject coordination and curriculum development.
  • Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives.
