About the Role:

The Environmental Health Specialist will work closely with the EHS Manager to lead day-to-day aspects of EHS compliance, ensuring adherence to statutory, regulatory, and company standards. Key responsibilities include control of inspections and audits of company assets, procedures, and infrastructure. The role also involves managing EHS programs, providing technical mentorship and leadership to internal and external clients, and ensuring facilities comply with EHS regulations and practices.

A Day in the Life:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health, safety, and environmental issues
  • Monitor site EHS performance and report at local and divisional levels
  • Assist in achieving continual process improvement on-site
  • Manage site EHS documentation and recording systems
  • Audit departments and contractors
  • Lead and coordinate risk assessment programs
  • Supervise and coordinate site EHS training
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
  • Support occupational health programs

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, safety, environmental, risk management, or occupational hygiene preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (engineering, science) supplemented by a certification in occupational health and safety
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical/GMP industry and knowledge of EHS legislation
  • Excellent presentation and motivational skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate effectively

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
