About the Job

Our healthcare facility is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cleaner at our Canberra site. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to all departments, wards, and public areas by ensuring a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently clean hospital areas including floors, surfaces, and equipment to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Handle chemical and/or hazardous substances safely and responsibly in the performance of cleaning duties.
  • Identify and report any problems relating to cleaning services and/or safety to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Assist with decontamination processes after clinical waste spillage has been removed by clinical staff.
  • Work varied shift times, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to support a 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Evidence of up-to-date immunisation against various diseases.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a healthcare facility is highly desirable.
  • A valid Working with Children Check and Police Check are mandatory.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide strong customer service.
  • Possess a genuine interest in working with and caring for people.
