About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Fostering and Counselling Intervention Service team in Mackay, QLD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing carer recruitment, monitoring the quality of care provided to children and young people, and delivering therapeutic services to improve the functioning of vulnerable families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial screening and intake processes
  • Development, coordination, and review of single case plans
  • Overseeing the assessment, planning, delivery, and review of strategies addressing children and young people's care and developmental needs
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the team in achieving organisational strategies while ensuring the delivery of high-quality services
  • Managing all aspects of the workforce within the area of responsibility
About You

We are looking for a charismatic leader with excellent communication skills, who can mentor and guide their team members to overcome organisational hurdles and achieve shared goals. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of legislative and service requirements, and be able to promote a culture of compliance.

To be suitable for this position, you will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Social/Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline
  • 2 years' experience in leading a multidisciplinary team in a child protection context
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of care services to children and young people in statutory care
  • Practical knowledge of financial management systems and budgeting
