Civil Engineering Draftsperson - Digital Software Lead

Stilcon Holdings Pty Ltd, a leading provider of quality structural steel solutions, is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Draftsperson - Digital Software Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation for Civil/Structural works packages, setting up and leading Stilcon's offshore/onshore drafting offering, and coordinating digital engineering/BIM activities with shop detailers and clients. They will also be required to review and identify changes to BIM models, track changes, and report them.

The ideal candidate will have solid construction industry design and drafting experience, relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Engineering Drafting, and strong technical knowledge of Tekla, Autodesk, Trimble, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, and BIM Modelling. They will also possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, and have a flexible working style to meet business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing documentation for Civil/Structural works packages
  • Setting up and leading Stilcon's offshore/onshore drafting offering
  • Coordinating digital engineering/BIM activities with shop detailers and clients
  • Reviewing and identifying changes to BIM models
  • Tracking changes and reporting them
  • Assisting in programming work, checking materials, and compliance with engineering and drawing specifications
  • Inspecting works onsite, including carrying out surveys and preparing survey reports
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure all processes are followed and adhered to
  • Conducting and managing an end-to-end drafting process
  • Ensuring all designs comply with relevant legislation
  • Ensuring all administrative tasks are carried out efficiently

Requirements:

  • Solid construction industry design and drafting experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Engineering Drafting
  • Strong technical knowledge of Tekla, Autodesk, Trimble, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, and BIM Modelling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Flexible working style to meet business targets
