About the Role
As a senior executive in the State Government of Victoria, you will play a crucial role in leading two critical functions within the department: Working Places and Environmental Sustainability. Your primary objective will be to develop and deliver strategies, projects, and services that align with departmental and broader policy to achieve tangible benefits for staff.

This includes using data related to occupancy and workspace usage to inform evidence-based planning and decisions on accommodation leasing and capital improvements. You will lead department-wide reforms to mitigate and adapt to climate change and reduce the department's environmental impacts. This involves developing and responding to environmental strategies, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to build capacity to deliver on environmental commitments, enabling stakeholders to take environmental action, and ensuring appropriate governance for the department to meet its environmental obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sustainable workspaces that promote health, well-being, and cultural inclusivity.
  • Lead the development of environmental strategies to minimize the department's environmental footprint.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive environmental reform and continuous improvement across the department.

Requirements
This role requires a stakeholder-focused individual with experience in program delivery, organisational change, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives, staff, and external partners. A strong understanding of environmental sustainability principles and practices is essential, as is the ability to drive culture change and motivate others to take action.
