Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef in preparing delicious meals and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Assist the Chef in preparing nutritious meals, purees, and special meals for babies and children.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to families, including greeting them in a friendly manner and offering barista services.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, adhering to Food and Council Authority requirements.
  • Culinary Classes: Participate in the Centre's regular culinary classes with the children.
  • Coverage: Be available and willing to step into the Chef's role during periods of absence or leave.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hospitality-related Certificate and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Experience: Experience working in Aged care or an Early Education setting.
  • Certificates: Current Working with Children's Check, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, and First Aid Certificates.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid time management skills with a high level of initiative.
