Job Description

Evolving the Mining Industry with Expert Geology Skills

We are seeking an accomplished geologist to lead our team in delivering operational excellence and top-tier geological insights. As a Senior Open Pit Geologist, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership across all geological tasks related to mine production, grade control, and resource development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise geological operations and contractor activities to meet production and cost targets.
  • Perform QAQC analysis and integrate geological, structural, and analytical data into grade control and resource models.
  • Collaborate with the Resource Geology team to prepare, maintain, and refine geological models.
  • Manage stockpile tracking and oversee end-of-month reconciliation processes.
  • Contribute to short-term forecasting and budgeting for the Geology department.
  • Promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Support team development through training and mentoring.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geology (Honours preferred), with postgraduate studies and professional memberships (Aus IMM, AIG) highly regarded.
  • Over 6 years of industry experience in mine geology and grade control, with a solid understanding of geological interpretation, 3D modeling, and estimation.
  • Proficiency in geological software (Datamine, Leapfrog, or similar) and database systems (acQuire).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
