Our organization is seeking a skilled Clinical Midwife to join our team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to women and their families in the North West region of Queensland.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced midwife who can deliver comprehensive, evidenced-based care in a continuity of care antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal model. The successful candidate will work in partnership with predominantly First Nations women and their families, providing direct midwifery care and support.
The Clinical Midwife will be responsible for:
- Providing individualized care plans for pregnant women, focusing on their unique needs and preferences;
- Conducting routine prenatal assessments, monitoring fetal well-being, and identifying potential complications;
- Delivering babies in a safe and supportive environment, utilizing up-to-date skills and knowledge;
- Offering postnatal support, education, and guidance to new mothers and their families;
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant tertiary degree qualification and current registration as a Registered Midwife;
- A postgraduate qualification or enrollment in a relevant field is highly desirable;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams;
- A strong commitment to cultural safety, equity, and respect for diversity;
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
