About the Opportunity
Job DescriptionThis Research Associate position is part of a prestigious ARC Laureate Fellowship project focusing on investigating changes in ocean salinity and the Earth's water cycle.
As a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), you will contribute to a high-impact research program delivering precise, policy-relevant insights into the evolving climate system.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A PhD or equivalent in physical oceanography or a highly related discipline, with a strong track record of research achievement.
- Experience in university post-graduate research supervision, with a commitment to mentorship and student development.
- Excellent analytical skills, with expertise in the use of climate model data sets and their analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of methods for analyzing ocean observations.
- Desirable: knowledge of machine learning or other spatial artificial intelligence methods.
- An attractive remuneration package, including a base salary within the range of $114,766 to $133,235 plus 17% superannuation.
