About the Opportunity

We are seeking a senior ecologist to enhance our reputation for ecological projects throughout Victoria and expand our service capacity in this area. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in fieldwork, assessments, legislative knowledge, and strong reporting and project management skills.

Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Senior Ecologist, with proficient ecological survey, reporting, and assessment capabilities. A passion for fieldwork and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes are essential. About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist who has the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology (or similar)
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Consulting and/or client/regulator side ecology experience
  • Experience with Victorian biodiversity survey and assessment requirements
  • DEECA Vegetation Quality Assessment (VQA) Habitat Hectares training and competency check is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity offsetting projects
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members
  • Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparing and reviewing reports, and ensuring final quality delivery
  • Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
  • Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work
  • Potential interest in team lead roles, with experience and/or enthusiasm for managing and developing a team of ecologists
