About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Designer to join our team at Bundaberg Regional Council. As a key member of our Civil Design Program, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for our civil engineering infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed investigations, design, drafting, cost estimating, and specifications for civil engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Produce construction drawings and associated documentation to enable efficient planning and delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure design solutions meet project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and community groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in design.
Requirements
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) from a Washington Accord accredited body with relevant design experience in municipal engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge in the design of civil infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Civil Engineering Software (12d, AutoCAD), GIS (Arc, MapInfo), and stormwater design software (XPSWMM/STORM, XPRAFTS, 12d Drainage).
  • High level of interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse range of clients, consultants, and staff.
  • Ability to produce reports and accurate design records in accordance with relevant design standards and quality assurance system principles.
  • Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence and Construction Industry General Safety Induction White Card.
  • Well-developed team member attributes and teamwork skills, and achievement in providing quality support and guidance to other staff.
  • Detailed experience in Water and Wastewater design (desired).
