Job Title: Rail Electrician
Job Description:
The Rail Electrician will be responsible for performing trade-related tasks such as component overhaul, installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, fit out of electrical equipment and acceptance testing. This will involve working with complex systems and equipment, and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform servicing, fault finding and troubleshooting tasks;
- Work under the direction of the Shift Technical Co-ordinator to complete allocated maintenance, repair and service work tasks;
- Ensure good housekeeping methods, rail safety requirements and environmental precautions are practiced at all times;
- Responsible for complying with rail safety requirements relevant to their work, as communicated by Supervisors and the Operations Manager.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have an Australian Electrical trade certificate, and possess strong communication skills (oral & written), including negotiation and influencing skills. They must also have the ability to read, interpret and understand plans, diagrams, drawings and specifications, as well as internal and external reports.
