What Your Day Will Be Like

You will be instrumental in defining the medium- to long-term strategy of SRE within your domain as the Senior Site Reliability Engineer for Cloud Migration. You will lead the safe migration of millions of customers to a better bank, applying SRE principles to ensure we build, monitor, and measure what's important.

You'll work collaboratively with other SRE leaders and teams across ANZx to drive down the cost of operations, increase efficiency, and build a strong reliability culture. As a role model for technical execution, you will take ownership of complex and ambiguous problems and mentor other engineers through their challenges.

You will need to be comfortable with constantly learning new tools and techniques, running proof-of-concept evaluations to keep us at the leading edge. We expect that you already have great ideas to share at our cloud guilds & user groups, along with industry meetups.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Coding expertise in one or more languages (Go, Java, or Python).
  • Expertise with common Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions.
  • Proficient with Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration tooling.
  • Extensive experience in cloud computing across one or more major public cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Honeycomb, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.).

The language and tools used are not as important as your development skills and learning aptitude.
