As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission by designing and developing features for our education and workforce solution products.

You will work closely with various stakeholders including technical leads, product managers and product designers to ensure that our software meets the needs of our customers.

Our technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, Next.js, Typescript, and PostgreSQL.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop working software across the full stack (end to end) according to requirements and development standards
  • Contribute to feature and solution design with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assist the support and customer success team with diagnosing issues with the software and providing guidance or helping with appropriate fixes
  • Provide mentoring and guidance for junior developers in any areas of expertise
  • Continually improve domain and technical knowledge through professional development

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Ruby
  • Good understanding of Rails
  • CSS, HTML and JavaScript Knowledge
  • An understanding of software version control, specifically with gitKnowledge of programming principles such as OOP and unit testing
  • Proficiency with any RDBMS, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience working with a web development framework or SaaS application
  • Experience working in a team using tools such as GitHub and JIRA
  • At least 5 years commercial software development experience in Ruby on Rails

Estimated salary: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
