Job Description

This Intermediate Accountant position is responsible for assisting clients by completing financial and management accounting reports. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a fast-paced business advisory environment.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing compliance jobs to trial balance stage.
  • Identifying franking account issues, such as franking deficit tax and penalties.
  • Reviewing client-prepared BAS/IAS and providing assistance with amendment/correction of system.
  • Resolving basic problems arising in client financial statements.
  • Preparing and analyzing accounts, income tax returns, company annual returns, Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefit Tax returns, and notices of assessment.
  • Identifying business performance issues and developing key indicators.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role or proven ability to perform the duties required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting packages, i.e., IPS, APS, and MYOB.
  • Demonstrated confidence and communication skills to assist in on-the-job training of undergraduates and graduates.
  • Basic understanding of tax laws, state taxes, and duties relating to resident taxpayers.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is estimated to be around $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
