Care and Support Specialist

As a Care and Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents to pursue their unique personal goals and passions. This may involve promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing, ensuring person-centred support and support plans are at the forefront of everything you do, partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life, coordinating with other staff to achieve outcomes, and liaising directly with nursing staff regarding any specific health concerns.

Some everyday tasks you may perform include assisting with eating, personal hygiene, mobility, household tasks, and leisure activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents.
  • Ensure person-centred support and support plans are at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Partner with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life.
  • Coordinate with other staff to achieve outcomes and liaise directly with nursing staff regarding any specific health concerns.
  • Support with everyday activities such as eating, personal hygiene tasks, mobility, household tasks, and leisure activities.
Requirements:
  • Ability to engage residents through a person-centered approach to care and support.
  • Works well and contributes effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Hold a Certificate III or willingness to obtain one.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical.
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check.
  • Ability to pass a NDIS clearance check.
