Our client is a leading Australian meat and food processing company.

This exciting opportunity is available to join their team in Ipswich, with a lifestyle roster that includes 4 ON (2 days, 2 nights), 5 OFF, 5 ON (2 days, 3 nights), 4 OFF Day shift start 4am & Night shift start 4pm.

There is a 4-week shutdown at Christmas every year for maintenance, and all trades are expected to be available for overtime.

As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the entire meat processing plant, which is heavily automated.

We are seeking self-motivated trade personnel with strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot faults, rectify, and provide preventative maintenance across the site.

Responsibilities include ensuring maximum equipment uptime by completing effective and efficient preventative maintenance, providing fast breakdown response, and ensuring all work meets company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.

About You

  • Mechanical trade qualifications and post-trade experience
  • Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
  • Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Experience gained from a large heavy industry organization
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (days/nights) including a possible 24/7 roster in the future
