Job Overview

The role of Principal Lawyer Lead is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to take on a leadership position and drive high-quality legal services across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in litigation, preferably in government and administrative law, and possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality legal services while fostering growth and expertise within the legal team
  • Mentor and develop lawyers, with experience in a similar role preferred
  • Provide strategic legal advice and influence service delivery to support the integrity and success of the organization

Candidate Attributes:

  • Demonstrated high-level litigation experience
  • Ability to lead and develop lawyers, and mentor other legal practitioners
  • Proven capacity to appear as an advocate, analyse complex legal and factual issues, and draft complex legal advice
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high competency in written and oral communications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Admitted as a Solicitor or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland
  • Holding a current practicing certificate issued by the Queensland Law Society or Queensland Bar Association
  • Fully compliant with all CPD requirements of the Queensland Law Society or Queensland Bar Association
