Psychology Consultant Job

Oxfordshire County Council has an exciting opportunity for a qualified psychologist to join our team as a psychology consultant. As part of our educational psychology service, you will be working closely with young people, parents, and school staff to provide expert advice and support.

About the Role
  • This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will be responsible for managing traded time within a cluster of schools, developing relationships with SENCOs and school professionals, and supporting the local authority with EHCP plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing and maintaining relationships with school staff and SENCOs to provide expert advice and support.
  2. Supporting the local authority with EHCP plans and ensuring that children receive the best possible outcomes.
  3. Managing traded time within a cluster of schools to ensure efficient use of resources.
  4. Collaborating with the team to provide training and support to school staff on various topics, including emotional literacy and SENCo supervision.
  5. Participating in ongoing learning and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • A professionally qualified psychologist with HCPC registration (or will be by the time of appointment).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and time management.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults.
  • Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
