Job Summary
Empire Group is seeking an experienced WorkCover paralegal or Workers Compensation Claims Advisor to work on workers compensation matters. In this role, you will be responsible for determining and gathering information in managing common law claims, deciding common law claims in accordance with relevant legislation, preparation of court matters, collating of Briefs, organising conferences, liaising with internal and external parties, ensuring claim outcomes meet company objectives and are cost-effective, general admin duties, drafting legal notices and correspondence, and any other duties as directed by the Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage common law claims, including determining and gathering information, and deciding claims in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Prepare court matters, including collating of Briefs and organising conferences.
- Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure claim outcomes meet company objectives and are cost-effective.
- Perform general admin duties, including drafting legal notices and correspondence.
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Team Leader.
Requirements
- Prior WorkCover litigation paralegal experience or Workers Compensation Claims Advisor experience of at least 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of workers compensation legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of organisational and time management skills.
