HumeLink West Project Overview

Transgrid has selected UGL and CPB Contractors to deliver the western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project, a 130km stretch of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines from Wagga Wagga Substation to Gugaa.

The project aims to increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states by connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW.

Key aspects of the project include:

  • Delivering new 500Kv double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms
  • Constructing a new substation at Gugaa, an Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai
  • Building a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0

Project Goals and Objectives

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a regular program of stakeholder contacts/liaison meetings to build trust and reliability
  • Consulting with the Project Team to identify and anticipate community concerns and facilitate priorities and requirements
  • Providing good communication skills to deal with members of the public regarding a range of issues

Requirements and Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to hold a medical assessment prior to commencement
