Job Description

We are seeking an Education Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers and wellbeing staff members by assisting the implementation of our Berry Street Education Model.

The role will involve working one-on-one and in small groups with students who have complex needs, including those with learning difficulties and disengaged students. You will have a focus on students' learning and transition into our program as well as tracking the development of students' social and emotional goals.

Our School exists to provide high-quality education to young people who are at risk of disengaging from their education. Our students may have significant gaps in academic achievement and have found it difficult to learn in a group setting, presenting with complex behaviors in school settings.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a minimum qualification in Education Support (Cert 3 and above) or a Diploma level qualification in Youth Work/Social Work or Community Services equivalent.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum qualification in Education Support (Cert 3 and above) or a Diploma level qualification in Youth Work/Social Work or Community Services equivalent
  • Deep understanding of the Education system
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the effective engagement of young people with complex needs
