At Challenge Community Services, we pride ourselves on creating inclusive environments that empower individuals with diverse abilities to live fulfilling lives. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker in our Accommodation Services.

This role offers daily challenges and opportunities to truly impact the lives of people living with disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential assistance to high-needs clients, aiding with personal care and daily tasks, and supporting clients who use wheelchairs and have additional medical needs.

Our team promotes autonomy and supports residents around the clock, fostering independence within a shared living environment. Your role will involve handling complex situations with empathy and composure, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

About You
  • You are confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
  • You are resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • You are skilled in prioritising tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • You are flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • You hold a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • You are able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • You hold Full COVID vaccination status.
  • You have experience with high-needs Disability clients.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent is desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes is desirable.
