Senior Legal Counsel, Commercial/Contracts Lawyer

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel, Commercial/Contracts Lawyer. This is a unique opportunity for experienced professionals in research-related contracts.

The Role
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure research agreements and contracts comply with relevant policies and laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate research agreements.
  • Advise stakeholders on risk assessments and contract compliance.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle, including variations, novations, and sub-contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, such as Foreign Interference and Sanctions Laws.
  • Build and maintain relationships with research centres, industry partners, and government agencies.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Solid understanding of the research and tertiary education landscape.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
