This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead innovative and sustainable solutions within a global infrastructure company, focusing on design management, safety, and operational efficiency in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead design coordination and delivery of secondary systems projects for transmission and distribution lines.
- Collaborate with engineers to collect data, perform calculations, and produce designs, charts, and cost estimates.
- Ensure project designs align with contractual specifications, delivered within scope and agreed timelines.
- Oversee site inspections, interpret work packages, and direct fieldwork to ensure quality civil works.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality management standards, including preparation of construction safety documents, adherence to Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and Plant Hazard Risk Assessments (PHRAs).
- Manage project teams and maintain a safe, efficient workplace through proactive planning, clear communication, and strict enforcement of safety protocols.
- Extensive experience in Secondary Systems Design for transmission and distribution, with a strong background in protection & control systems.
- Proven experience with major industry players in delivering large-scale design and construction projects, supervising multiple stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to environmental management plans.
- Expertise in project planning, budget control, and resource allocation to meet production forecasts and program requirements.
- Trade certificate or equivalent qualifications (e.g., AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma).
- Strong knowledge of safety management practices (e.g., White Card, Provide First Aid Level 2, Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical control, instrumentation, or secondary systems design, with recent roles such as Design Delivery Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Technologist.
- Current Driver's License.
