Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering large-scale data platforms and pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing solutions, data modeling, and schema design. They will also have experience with Agile delivery, leading and working on end-to-end delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will be passionate about building next-generation data platforms and data pipeline solutions across the Bank. They will be confident in their understanding of data architecture principles and be able to drive pragmatic and fit-for-purpose solutions with high technical quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver large-scale data platforms and pipelines using Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, and AWS Cloud services.

  • Develop and maintain complex data warehouse concepts, including facts, dimensions, normalization, and event-driven data architecture.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement data governance practices, data privacy regulations, and security measures.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field of data engineering and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong background in data warehousing solutions, data modeling, and schema design.

  • Experience with Agile delivery, leading and working on end-to-end delivery of projects.

  • Proficiency in Spark for large-scale data processing and experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming.

  • Dealing with complex file formats and structures, traditional data warehouse concepts, and event-driven data architecture.

  • Apache Iceberg, MSK (Kafka), Redshift, Glue ETL, and S3 experience preferred.
