About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our team at Ampcontrol. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with underground mining equipment and has strong mechanical aptitude.

Job Summary:

  • As a Mechanical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • You will work independently, using your problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in ensuring that all work meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair underground mining equipment, including continuous miners and shuttle cars
  • Conduct detailed inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and recommend preventive maintenance
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Liaise with other teams and stakeholders to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in engineering or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair, preferably in an underground mining environment
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining equipment, including hydraulic systems and electrical controls
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
