We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our School of Nursing and Midwifery as a Professor (Level E) of Nursing.

Job Description

This is a prestigious academic role that requires a distinguished researcher, educator, and mentor with a proven track record of advancing nursing science and impacting healthcare delivery.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a full spectrum of academic responsibilities, including research, learning, and teaching. They will also conduct high-quality impactful research and generate competitive research funding.

A key aspect of this role is providing academic leadership, ensuring consistently high-quality experiences and outcomes are achieved for higher degree research (HDR) candidates.

The ideal candidate will have achieved international recognition through original, innovative, and distinguished contributions to the field of nursing. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to higher education and Nursing.

Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the community.

This is a continuing, full-time position based at our vibrant, world-class campuses across Southeast Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a full spectrum of academic responsibilities, spanning research, learning, and teaching.
  • Conduct high-quality impactful research and generate competitive research funding.
  • Provide academic leadership ensuring consistently high-quality experiences and outcomes are achieved for HDR candidates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse or ability to apply and obtain.
  • A proven track record of internationally recognised research that advances nursing science and impacts healthcare delivery.
