About the Fabrication and Welding Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of fabricator/welder in our team at Bundaberg's leading retailer in agricultural products. In this varied role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling pipework and irrigation equipment – both in our workshop and on client sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints of irrigation systems, utilizing strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform welding on various metals and materials for the fabrication and repair of irrigation system components (e.g., pipes, fittings, supports, valves, etc.) using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assemble and install irrigation equipment and systems, applying effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and materials in good working order, adhering to safety standards and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick, with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of blueprints, showcasing strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work as a team, promoting collaboration and productivity.
  • Current driver's license and reliable vehicle, allowing for flexibility and efficiency in work-related tasks.
