Specialty Practice Career Advancement

The Pathway to Specialty Practice program offers a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to expand their expertise in a specialty area, enhance their knowledge and clinical skills, and progress towards career advancement.

This comprehensive 12-month program provides clinical experience in specialty settings, guidance from experienced nursing educators and peers, and opportunities for articulation into postgraduate studies. Participants will gain hands-on experience in selected streams such as Cardiology & Cardiac Investigations Unit (CIU), Correctional Health, Emergency, Haematology/Oncology & Emergency, Intensive Care Unit & Cardiothoracic, Medical Imaging Department, Mental Health & Emergency, Perioperative - Anaesthetics & Post Anaesthesia Care Unit, Perioperative – Scrub/Scout, Renal Services: Dialysis.

  • A solid foundation in acute nursing with a desire to expand expertise in a specialty area

  • Initiative and advocacy for the safety and wellbeing of both patients and colleagues

To be eligible for this program, you must have met all qualifications, skills and experience including current Nursing Registration, educational background and professional experience.
