Job Title: Assistant Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our finance team at Brooks Automation. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of management accounts, supporting statutory account reporting and posting, and managing accounts payable and receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure that all payments are authorized and made on time.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all AP transactions.
  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payments.
  • Reconcile AR ledger and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly AR aging reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and commentary.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and perform month-end closing activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Part-qualified or studying towards a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Experience working with multi-currency, global manufacturing and sales operations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MS Navision, Oracle) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
