Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our Oil Trading team in Sydney as an Oil Trading Analyst. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining an independent view, providing accurate data to the Oil Trading desk, and executing hedging programs for traders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Capture and Reconciliation: Accurately capture and reconcile physical oil and paper trades, including physical, swaps, and futures.
  • Position Exposure Monitoring: Monitor and report daily position exposure, highlighting exposure concentration and hedging requirements.
  • Hedging Programs: Execute and manage hedging programs for traders, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely execution.
  • Daily Pricing: Provide daily pricing to wholesale customers, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Oil Lifting Requirements: Accurately forecast oil lifting requirements across terminals and locations.
  • Trade Movement Tracking: Track physical trade movements and notify relevant parties, updating trades in the system.
  • Trader Support: Provide ad-hoc trader support and analysis, researching market structure, spreads, and price movements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-4 years of post-grad experience in a similar operational or analytical capacity, preferably in oils, metals, or soft commodities.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with a strong educational profile in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics.
  • Personal Qualities: Analytical, control-focused, organized, diligent, and able to work under pressure, with excellent communication skills.

What We Offer:

A well-paying position with a salary variable based on relevant experience, and the opportunity to work in-office in the Sydney CBD, 9am-6pm, 5 days a week.
